Funeral Monument


These are among the most common and discreet pictures of our lives and, therefore, the frequently unnoticed ones. But everytime we perceive them we cannot help but think of the unchangeable value that the Resistance movement has been having throughout the Italian history, together with its Partisans. Graves and stones keep alive the sacrifice of those who were tortured and murdered in those places by a dictatorship whose shadows are still shading Italy in present times. This is a journey along the free soul of Parma’s province, which was awarded the Gold Medal for Resistance and saw several of its sons die for it.


Sono una delle immagini pił comuni della nostra vita, tra le pił discrete e per questo spesso inosservate. Eppure ogni volta che ci rendiamo conto della loro presenza non possiamo non soffermarci a riflettere sul valore immutabile che ha avuto nella nostra storia la Resistenza e con Lei tutti i Partigiani. Lapidi e cippi che mantengono vivo il sacrificio di chi in quei luoghi venne torturato e ucciso da una dittatura le cui ombre ancora oscurano il nostro Paese. Un viaggio nell’anima libera della provincia parmigiana, medaglia d’oro della Resistenza, che tanti suoi figli vide morire per lei.
